Welcome to the website of a pagan oldcraft group in the South of England. We are dedicated to the study and practice of the Craft of The Wise .
The last time I wrote anything like this was for friends of mine who ran Capall Bann Publishing when they first started. They wanted a book about the Old Craft. It is nearly 14 years ago since I did that. It still sells today as it did then. I have seen it being sold in Japan, America and all over the world. I have see the world change in that time. We have gone from an age where we had to be secret in our work, but now the policeman can take Beltain as a religious holiday. A sailor can name himself as an Odinist. So we live in far more open times where religious diversity is expected. I myself can now say openly that I am a pagan when I go to hospital. We have pagans, witches and druids going into prisons as visitors alongside christian priests.
We no longer have to hide behind closed doors in fear that our children will be taken from us. We walk in many different lives and jobs, but some people are still not clear about who and what we are. These short writings are designed for the initiated and the uninitiated, for the researcher and reporter who may wish to know more for a newspaper article.
My only wish, is that it leads to a greater understanding of who and what we are. Remember, the world is a multifaceted place and each religion adds diversity and beauty to the small planet we live on. To each person his own pathway and only by understanding each others religion can we hope to learn to live together as one family. At the end, it is not the man in the street that makes wars and religions have been used too many times as an excuse for violence, persecution and war.
May you go in peace and tolerance for your fellow man and woman so one day no tears will be shed by loss through war.
Yours, Margaret McArthur. (Lady Raven, Elder of the Old Craft)
